SCFM Awards
Established in 1990, the South Carolina Federation of Museums Awards Program seeks to recognize and celebrate outstanding achievements of museums, museum professionals, and supporters in South Carolina.
SCFM defines a museum according to the Institute of Library and Museum Services (IMLS): “organized as a public or private nonprofit institution that exists on a permanent basis for essentially educational or aesthetic purposes; and care for, and own or use tangible objects, whether animate or inanimate, and exhibit these objects on a regular basis through facilities which it owns or operates.”
2024 Nominations are sought in four categories:
Nomination Deadline: ALL award nominations should be submitted by Friday, August 30, 2024.
SCFM Annual Conference Scholarships
The South Carolina Federation of Museum offers scholarships to attend its annual conference. The conference presents opportunities for increased networking and professional development in South Carolina. Scholarship recipients receive a one-year membership in SCFM and a $250 stipend, in addition to a waiver of the full conference registration.
SCFM Professional Development Fellowship
The South Carolina Federation of Museum will award on a first-come, first-served basis up to $200 in support of professional development in the museum field to SCFM Members.
